Yogi Berra, the New York Met

Yogi Berra will be forever remembered as a New York Yankee but he was once the manager and did actually play for the other New York baseball team, the Mets.  Good ahead and cringe.  Yogi appeared in a whopping nine games for the Mets as a player managing 9 hits and scoring 1 run.  As a manager for the Mets from 1972 to 1975 Yogi led the Mets to an NL pennant in 1973, had a .497 winning percentage as manager of the Mets and managed the 1974 NL All-Star team.  Yogi was a class act both on and off the field.  Once when chatting with Derek Jeter on the field at Yankee Stadium Berra told Jeter that he had something for him and continued to reach into his pocket and pull out… his middle finger.  Yogi will be missed and it’s nice to see him pass due to natural causes.  The man lived a hell of a life and there will never be another one like him.  Take the fork in the road on your way to heaven Yogi.
